Nic 5 Star Rating  27th August 2010

Lowther Caravan Park, Eamont Bridge Oct'09, March'10, August'10

Pitch - excellent, room for awning and windbreaker, electric hook up, a number of water points and bins close to pitches.

Activities - fly fishing lakes on river which is 5 minute walk from touring sites, childrens playground, Lowther Estate at far end of site gorgeous walk through forest, pub with eat in or take away.

Shop - excellent, good prices, stock wide range of items, staff are very helpful, fresh food items delivered every day. Andrew runs this shop and his dad runs a shop at Park Foot camp site at Pooley Bridge which is 5 or 10 minutes drive from Lowther park. I needed to buy a sleeping bag and a hitch lock, Andrew didn't have either in stock but rang his dad and managed to get both items for me. Excellent customer service.

Toilet & Showers - very clean, two hairdryers, two pegs and seat in shower cubicles to hang towels etc, showers hot but at the right temperature, one cubicle has; bath, shower, toilet, sink, and baby changing area.

Launderette - have used this facility and is reasonable, washers and dryers are quick so not sat around waiting.

Staff - friendly and helpful

Places to eat out: Queens head at Askham (5 minutes drive), The Highland Drove Inn at Salkeld (10 minutes drive), Salsa Mexican at Penrith (5 minutes drive). All Excellent.

We have been to this site on a number of occasions for full weeks rather than weekends, the grounds are picturesque, site is very clean, CCTV on site, would recommend this site to everyone I know, Penrith 5 minutes away. We took some friends with us and they loved it so much they didn't want to go home.
